Dee Dryhurst

General Manager and Full Time Coach

I discovered CrossFit thanks to two friends while living on Maui. We were spending the day at the beach when they convinced me to give it a try. From my very first conversation with the gym owner, I knew I'd found something I was going to love.

Before becoming a CrossFit coach, I spent many years as an elementary school teacher before finishing my teaching career in middle school. Around that same time, the owner of my gym mentioned she was looking for a morning coach. I signed up for my CrossFit Level 1 that day. Coaching CrossFit lets me combine two things I genuinely enjoy: helping people learn and helping them move with confidence.

One of my favorite parts of coaching is helping athletes at every stage of their journey. Sometimes it's helping an experienced athlete make a small adjustment that makes a movement more efficient. Other times it's encouraging someone who hasn't yet realized what they're capable of. I love seeing athletes surprise themselves or hearing that class was the best part of their day. If I played even a small role in that, I consider it a success.

My coaching style is calm and encouraging. I like to observe how people move, ask questions, and understand their goals or any injuries they're working around. From there, I try to find the best path forward for each individual athlete.

Favorite movements: Snatches and GHD sit-ups.

Fun fact: I've lived in England, Canada, and Hawaii before moving to Colorado.

I hope every athlete leaves class feeling more confident than when they walked in.
