Kass Dean
Part time Coach
Hi! I’m Coach Kass, and I earned my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate in August 2025. I’ve been coaching for almost a year now, and I’ve loved every minute of it.
My husband introduced me to CrossFit about four years ago. Before that, I mainly did HIIT workouts, but after having my first baby, I wanted to get back into lifting. I was definitely intimidated at first. After having a C-section, I didn’t know if I would ever be able to do all the things CrossFit athletes do. It didn’t take long to realize that, with hard work and consistency, I could train through even the toughest challenges. About a month in, I completely fell in love with the methodology. The community, the training, and the “me vs. me” mentality were unlike anything I had experienced before.
After about three years of CrossFit—including training through my second pregnancy and accomplishing a VBAC—I realized I wanted to be more than just an athlete. I wanted to help other people improve, build confidence, and become the best version of themselves. That’s when I decided to earn my CrossFit Level 1 Certificate, and coaching has been incredibly rewarding ever since.
Some of my favorite athletes to coach are the ones who have been doing CrossFit for a while, but just can’t seem to break through on a specific skill. I love helping them build a game plan to get there. There’s nothing better than hearing someone say, “I used your cue and it finally clicked!” or “I’ve been doing those accessory exercises, and I can feel my first pull-up coming!” Those moments are what make coaching so fulfilling. My goal is that every person who walks into class feels comfortable being themselves, has fun, and leaves with a smile.
As an athlete, I’m a sucker for short, fast workouts with very little rest—give me about a 2:1 work-to-rest ratio any day. My perfect cookie workout would include burpees (obviously), light barbell cycling, and some type of pulling movement.
A fun fact about me: I’m from a small town in Montana called Butte, known as “The Richest Hill on Earth” because it was one of the country’s largest copper mining towns. It’s also home to the Berkeley Pit, one of the largest Superfund sites in America. People always joke, “Don’t drink the Butte water,” but I honestly think my hometown has some of the best tap water around!
Hope to see you on the floor and on the leaderboard! -Coach Kass
